A project bike is a motorcycle that requires an amount of work before it is suitable for riding.

Project bikes range from basket cases (dismantled and only partly complete) to motorcycles that require minor cosmetic repairs, but are otherwise complete and rideable. Most project bikes fall somewhere in the middle of these two examples.
